Kosta Dedov, structural engineer and GDK manager. Second generation engineer, having more than fifteen years of experience in construction field.
Born in the beautiful mountain town of Kotel, Bulgaria, Kosta Dedov graduated English Language School in Sliven before entering the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) in Sofia. He received his Master's Degree in Structural Engineering in 2006. Since then he has been managing, designing and implementing numerous construction projects, among which the following being named as more distinguishing:
-- Montupet (France) Cast Aluminum Production Plant in Rousse, Bulgaria - responsible for leading and managing steel structure errection (2000 tons, 20 000 square metres);
-- Saint Gobain Weber Production Plant - Kostinbrod, Bulgaria - production, delivery and errection of steel structure and silo system (500tons, 35 metres height);
-- Vukovar (Croatia) Pedestrian Bridge - Co-designer of 96-metre three span pedestrian bridge over Vukovar River, Vukovar, Croatia;
-- Novo Selo Training Area (NSTA), Bulgaria - Cantonment Project - Lead designer and site manager during project evaluation. US Corps of Engineers operated project, consisting of several subprojects - Helicopter Aviation Apron, Aviation Operations Building, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Strip, Concrete Hardstand, Gravel Pads, etc. Design reviewed and approved by both Bulgarian Ministry of Defense and US Corps of Engineers.
Very well experienced with CAD and office products, having completed post-graduate courses on Finite Elements Analysis software, member of the Bulgarian Chamber of Engineers since 2006. A licensed structural designer, having additionally completed courses in Safety, Safety Management and Quality Control System (QCS).
Worked in the construction field in the United States of America in 2004 and 2005 - mainly in residential projects in Philadelphia, PA. Fluent in English, Bulgarian and Greek, speaks German and Russian as well.
Apart from his professional field, he is interested in sports, scientific research and philosophy - primarily Ancient Greek and Roman philosophy. Enjoys poetry and literature.
